Nov. 2 2007 SuperDrag, one of my favourite bands of the last decade, re-formed & played 2 shows at Fillmore / Irving Plaza. While Friday was certainly a fine rock show, I think they were still working out the kinks of re-forming the original line-up 10 years later. * then down to annex for ruff club. I gave spencer product my artworks 'no time for fun & games' & 'yellow & orange.' marika w hopsted downstairs. I gave jacky pollis a pavement live cd from 1994. I took a pic w/leigh lezark. dj geo told me the misshapes website was on the way. I gave out "new reality" buttons. stayed til 345 good energy. ***1/4 of 5 stars.

Nov 5 2007. i was in East Hampton for the week. it was 58 degrees & sunny on the beach. I had Vegetable Lo-Mein for dinner at Chen's garden.

Nov 6 2007 I attended Ryan McGinley's photo show at Glenn Horowitz on NewTown lane.
My late lunch at Rowdy Hall was spinach and pumpkin pecan cake.

Nov 14 2007 I was tested at NY Hospital for an inguinal hernia & acid reflux. My operation was at the end of the month.
Nov 16 2007 started out the night at UpStair's Danny A's 'wanna-be exclusive' lounge/club above Cafe Bari on Spring Street. While I am grateful to charismatic hosts cameron & romina, this venue always lacked 'that certain something,' despite big hype in the Post etc. A year later, autumn, 2008, UpStairs is closed. I gave out Hamptons magazines to cameron, romina, lady lucy, ian cogneato, mike nouveau, dhani & josh becker. stayed from 11-1245. cute crowd. no vibe. I like the photos though.
* next up to Cielo on lil west 12th st. I was comped $20 admission at the door. I gave dj vibe cds to rob f & danny howells cds to benny soto. Behrouz played a fine set of medium-size-room chunky progressive tech-house. I spent about 15 minutes talking with danny tenaglia, arguably among the 3 or 5 best djs who has ever lived. taking 2 pics w/DT was 1 of the highlights of my autumn, 2007. stayed til 340. ***1/2 of 5 stars
** finally up to Hiro for tommie sunshine. I was comped, thanks Daniela M ! tommie played ok 90s house but there were 5 people left at 4:10 am . 1/2*

Nov 22 2007. I attended Paul Oakenfold's Thanksgiving [former Trancegiving] at Pacha. Circa 1999, Oakey's NYC dates at Roxy & Bowery Ballroom were among the best club nights in NYC of the decade or two. How the mighty have fallen. I could barely stand 60-90 mins of Oakey's warmed over epic trance. And in 2008, for the first time in 10 years, Oakey didnt even play a NYC Thanksgiving party.
Sandra Collins played a surprisingly strong progg & euro set. Oakey came on at 1: am. the crowd was happy with his ancient epic trance but i wasnt. songs incl Faster Pussycat dub, nightmare brainbug. super8 & tab 'needs to feel.' 'future music' by astrix. simon patterson 'bulldozer.' armin van buuren 'rush hour.' thanks to dj gregg for the spots. I left by 230 i had never before bailed on oakey after 60-90 mins like that & I have not heard him at all in 2008. *** of 5 stars.
Jesus, Oakey's sets in 1999-2000 were some of the best Ive ever heard !!

Nov 29 2007 I had a hernia operation, which was excruciatingly painful for 2 weeks, and in the end took 4-6 weeks to heal & stop hurting. Vicodin & Percocet. Thanks to the great Marc Jacobs, who had a similar operation a few days before mine, and Really helped my recuperation!!

my favorite sneakers [Trainers] were Tretorns at Clearly First 980 Madison Ave.

the best DVD was Paul Lynde's Halloween special from 1976.
