oct 1, 2004 luke & leroy hosted a tribute night to new order. top tunes from Mr X: subculture. dream attack. perfect kiss. temptation. transmission. also hand in glove. somebody told me. train in vain. suedehead. london. so hard. rebel rebel. modern love. ***1/4 of 5 stars.
* the same night my favorite played 169 broadway, a much missed LI pop rock act. the damnwells were at bowery ballroom. vito fun hosted a party at don hills.

oct 2, 2004 the 22's headlined tiswas at don hills. 5 years later it's nice to see tis back at don's - monthly.

oct 8 chus & the low end specialists were at ikon, also known as exit. gw bush & john kerry debated. chus and ceballos have become one of the world's most popular tech-house duos - they rock.

oct 9, 2004 morrissey played the first of 2 nights at radio city music hall touring the quarry LP. I paid $2000 for 1st row orchestra pit tix- much closer than 1st row orchestra its literally less than a yard from moz's stagelip. the artist elizabeth peyton was feet away from me also. It was the best concert I saw in 2004 & one of the 20 or so best concerts of my 38 years seeing concerts. the setlist: first of the gang to die. bigmouth strikes again. november,. i like you. crashing bores. the more you ignore me. let me kiss you. forgiven jesus. how soon is now. irish blood. never played symphonies. rubber ring. daddys voice. now my heart is full. last night i dreampt. subway train/everyday is like sunday. you know i couldnt last. encore: there is a light.
the only moz-related shows that were better than this one were: the smiths meat is murder at the beacon 1st night. moz at the beacon 2/29/00. and moz's 1992 paramount your arsenal show was about as great as radio city overall. ****3/4 of 5 stars. perhaps the best event i attended club or concert wise in 2004.
* the same night deep dish were at crobar. dubfire and sharam dont play together much anymore. its hurt their populoarity substantially.

oct 10, 2004 morrissey was at radio city touring his triumphant quarry lp. his new b side compilation 'swords' is one of 09's best recent releases.

oct 14, 2004 junior vasquez was at crobar, avenue d performed 'do I look like a slut.' hi-lites of jnr's set: joyce sims all n all. whitney fine. destinys lose my breath. tamyra gray raindrops will fall. lisa lisa i wonder if i take u home. diana ross im coming out mauros remix w/kevin aviance performing!. suzanne palmer luv 2 luv u. miss kitten rippen kitten. billie rae systems of siolence. nasty girl remx. guests incl peter rauhofer. fun night & GREAT tunes as above!! ***1/2 of 5 stars. tonight thanksgiving 2009 jnr is at cielo.

oct 21, 2004 beavher at don hills. this was the penultimate beavher I attended after having been a weekly beav regular since mid-1994 at don hills. guests incl gregg jen vito becca corinne, nick marc and veronika. top tunes: angel. wake me up before gogo. down under. nick likes the quick. ***1/2 of 5 stars. it was almost the end for beavher. with soul kitchen back in ny , will beavher follow in 2010 question

oct 29 2004 danny tenaglia was at ikon/exit. junior vasquez' halloween bash was at the spider club at avalon. both venues now closed.

oct 30, 2004 halloween parties incl tiswas, southpaw & NA/nells/plumm.

oct 31, I attended natalia vodianova & justin portman's halloween russian ball at capitale. guests incl theodora & alex richards. my costume was the new york times page 1!! other great costumes: evil & mrs knieval. the green hornet. best tune: pharrell frontin. also nelly hot in herre. appreciated the free admission & champagne but this was a seriously flat party. natalia was very pretty & taller than youd think in a witches hat. ** of 5 stars. at the time nativodi was arguably the number one model. shes hardly in the top 10 in 2009.
* the same night 2004 MFer had its annual halloween party at spirit. michael t suddenly stopped mfer a few years back - i guess they couldnt get along.

some favourite LPs in oct 2004 incl jobriath's reissue on sanctuary, a cult glam Lp from the early 70s. pavements crooked rain was reissued deluxe style on matador. wowee zowee later in nov 2006 on 2 cds & its their best LP.

and the worst film of oct 2004 was taxi with jimmy fallon, queen latifah & gisele bundchen. gisele was another top model in 2009. now shes pregnant with a patriot baby. yuck.

my business meetings incl. alvin valley. he was crazed for any socialite ie tinsley and a fan of p diddy. whatever happened to alvin valley question.
