june 2, 1999 ON! was a fabulous weds. night party at Club Life on Bleecker st. this very week On! was in the village voice with a handsome portrait of dapper hosts james spooner & a besuited nick marc. guests on 6/2/99 incl: rob xian from the batcave, michael lamorte, voodooru, alex english, kerriblack, al zero phillips, justine d. and jenny from nj. theme: 'do the shing a ling' 70s chopper scooters, vintage vespas, 2 wheel wonders on display in the rec room. top tunes: green onions, freddie's dead, sex machine, paint it black, sgt pepper, & tomorrow never knows. ***3/4 of 5 stars.

Hands up who would like to see Pavement live in 2009, 2010?? I saw them live about 7 times from 1992- ;))))))))

june 30, 1999 On! at life with guest chloe sevigny [dating jarvis cocker at the time??] and top tunes 'grazing in the grass is a gas' have you see your mother baby, taxman, under my thumb, jimi fire, this charming man, & brown sugar. Ive met a LOT of actresses and chloe has always been one od the 'dead-est fish' in conversation.

favourite lps in june 1999 incl jim o'rourke 'eureka.' with a brill cover of bacharach's amazing 'something big.' o'rourke is now a member of sonic youth & christgau in the voice gave SY's latest LP a big rave in this week's edition. sure beats tricia romano's mr. black column...eek. 10 years on christgau & romano both are gone from the Voice & SY just made a good LP :)
